Carbon Picks has been producing and supplying high-end picks to the world for over a decade. Still made in Scotland by a guitarist, for guitarists, our pro picks are designed to be the pinnacle of tone and control as you progress in your playing towards thicker, smaller picks that give you exactly these qualities.

What started with guitarist Bobby Leckie's idea to make his own picks in his teens from various materials developed into RJL CNC-produced carbon fiber picks. The tonal advantage at the start of this experiment using high-end amps was clear to hear, and being used to using Jazz III-styled picks led to a similar shape and feel but with far better tone with no chirps, and a pure pick release as the pick edge breaks on release. This edge wear is beneficial to shaping that edge to suit your picking style but can cause a slight dust buildup on your picking fingers. This is easily wiped off in a second on dark trousers as opposed to white shirts and is very minimal, well worth the tonal advantage. This very hard, fibrous, and light material is so much harder and lighter than others and requires good pick control, as others do to avoid scratches to finishes.

Those who recognise RJL from the original site rjlguitars.co.uk will know i manufacture  guitars, parts and other interesting music related products but this new up to date site is designed to make acces to our guitar pick as simple as typing carbonpicks into any browser. Links to other guitar related links will be added soon. From picks to solid mahogany pickup rings can be found here.

The pick tip shape follows our custom profile and is now hand finished. the range has evolved over time to concentrate on the ultimate favoured profiles. Our Jazz and Jazz+ size. The Jazz+ fits into a middle intermediate ground between a Jazz and standard size pick but has a similar feel to our Jazz size. I use both now.
